Disclaimer: A numerical instability started to develop in the equatorial Atlantic Ocean on May 10, 2014. This was caused by the NCODA-3DVAR analysis not being able to converge to the correct solution. Because profiles are assimilated more than once, the instability persisted for some days. A correction to NCODA was implemented on May 20th.
